The company said it will seek approval to market a generic version of the drug in Canada.

“We are disappointed that the FDA has approved Seroquel XR in Canada,” AstraZeneca said in a statement.
The company has been working with a Canada-based regulatory authority to make the drug available in the U. S. but is awaiting final approval by the U. Food and Drug Administration.
